a world without female shame

A world without female shame stemmed from a brief asking me to communicate a message in regards to a community I belong to that has been negatively impacted by language.

A world without female shame is a hypothetical exhibition showcasing how the world would look if language was not used as a weapon against female biology. The exhibition also highlights how this use of language negatively impacts woman and societies' view of woman.

My sculptures depict all the things that were historically associated with derogative words and needed hiding in adverts, shops and everyday life due to being seen as unclean and inappropriate in society - stubbley legs, hair, a used tampon and normal used pants are seen to show the natural state of being on your period .
